AIR, 1990

AIR is a big circular video-sculpture composed by ten monitors screen up, showing images of seagulls flying between sky and water with a strong background of the seagull’s noise. A conceptual link between two cities, Venice and Tokyo, raw glass refers to Venice’s light composing a Japanese ritual gesture like a large ikebana. A sensitive and mysterious work combining a Venice sky and a Zen garden, the ephemeral moving video-image and raw glass light, the strength of raw material and the lightness of thin Murano glass rods.

ARIA è una grande videoscultura circolare con 10 TV con schermo verso l’alto che mostrano immagini di gabbiani in volo fra cielo e acquacon forte suono del grido dei gabbiani. E’ un legame concettuale tra le due città, Venezia e Tokyo, vetro grezzo di Venezia effetti di luce che compongono un oggetto del rituale giapponese come un grande Ikebana. E’ un’opera sensibile e misteriosa che combina un cielo veneziano ad un giardino zen, l’effimero movimento dell’immagine video e la luce del vetro, la forza del materiale grezzo e la leggerezza di leggere canne di vetro muranese.
